Airport Details for
Laoag airport (sometimes Laoag International Airport) is the most northerly and most significant airport in the North of Luzon Island. Laoag airport provides access to Laoag City, the province of Ilocos Norte and much of the hinterland of the Cordilleras (the Cordilleras mountain ranges form the centre of the head of Luzon), through the provinces of Abra, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, Mountain Province and Apayao. Near Laoag there are excellent golf
courses and lakes; there are casinos where to pass the time before the next round of golf. For the water sports adventurer, Laoag can be the starting point to explore the most beautiful beaches in northern Luzon - from Pagudpud, along the northern coast, to the Cagayan Valley. For the terra firma adventurer Laoag airport can be you staging post for hiking and trekking into the mountain ranges where un-rippled shimmering lakes reflect the pristine rain forest landscape and rivers of clean, fresh water cascade over yet-to-be-named waterfalls and where dreams of finding Yamashita's Gold have created legends, heroes and villains. Fly to Laoag airport one month for more exciting adventures than you can pack into one Indian Jones explorer movie and then fly back again the next month for another blockbuster episode . . . or you can enjoy the excellent golf. Fly to Laoag also for: game fishing is good October to May; Pagudpud's most beautiful beaches and other along the northern coast are great year-round; the mountains are best climbed during the driest months (January to May); stand up paddleboarding can be a year-round activity as can windsurfing; for scenic fairways beside the lakes, golf doesn't get much better than in Laoag.
Note: flights direct to Laoag may be limited or seasonal, alternate airport is Clark, Pampanga
