STAR Tollway Extension To Join South Luzon Expressway

Manila just got closer to Puerto Galera!!

I just heard the the STAR Tollway from Batangas to Sto Thomas has been extended to join up with the South Luzon Expressway near Calamba! This will cut out traffic congestion along the six-kilometers-of-hell, between Sto Thomas and Calamba, that has plagued travelers journeying between Manila and Batangas and on to Puerto Galera, for more than a decade.

With the STAR Tollway linking up with the South Luzon Expressway (SLEx) journey times between Manila and Batangas should be cut to just one hour and fifteen minutes.

The Calamba - Sto Thomas link road was opened today by President GMA but will not be open to the public for another "couple of months" because they have not installed the safety barriers and lights, apparently.

The is great news for people travelling To Puerto Galera from Manila. It will also make the long route to Taal Lake via the SLEx and STAR a lot quicker too.
