Camping at Imelda Falls, Laguna Philippines

Camping is not new to the Philippines, but it does not get much publicity.

I have started to get involved and now my daughter is old enough I am trying to get out and about.

Camping using Public Transport and not Private Vehicles where possible.

The first trip was easy since it is just a few hours out of Manila.

Busses Ply the routes to a major town near by and then 1 Trike and Two Jeepneys and you are there.

We took one route there and a different route back just for fun.

Imelda Falls Laguna is a Fantastic little trip, and nice and cheap.

If you do not want to buy all the equipment then you can hire tents and other items at the top of the trail.

I Purchased the Full Kit and Caboodle, and yes i will tell you where to find certian items here in Makati.

Having all my gear and my wifes and daughter in my pack is quite a lot but once you have it on your back it is just walking..

My wife and daughter helped on the way back by carrying some of their items back to Manila, but this just really unballanced the pack a little.

How to get there.
Green Star buses at Taft and Buendia. (Map to be provided.)

6:30am Green Star bus to Sta Cruz. Cost 140 Peso Each

9:30 am Trike to Jeepney stop at Market at Sta Cruz. 40 Peso for Three

9:45am Jeepney to Majayjay ( Ma Hi Hi ) 33 Peso Per Person

10:40am Jeepeny to Imelda Falls. 15 Peso Per Person

11:20am Arrival at Imelda Falls

The jeepney will drop you at the Barangay Outpost.

It will cost 30 Peso Per Night Per Person.
Then walk towards the shops down the street (Large Car Park if you want to park your car.)
Just after the Shops on the left there is a stairway going down to the path at the bottom of the stairs head down the path to the left. Its like a Y Intersection with the stairs heading towards the correct direction (Left).

Walk for about 15 Minutes - 25 Minutes (Real slow walk take in the environment.) Then you are at the falls and the camping area.

The Camping area is rocky, you will bend a peg or two, and may need a matress.. I slept comfortably without a matress, just had to move my legs about the rocks a bit.

Set up your tent as soon as you get there, there is no Marking for your site, so picking the best site is up to you and the speed in which others claim spots..

After setting up we ate and then played in the freezzing water.. (OH yes its like icy fridge water.)

It is so nice and cool there..

More to come..

Well, there's no doubt that the Philippines are many great places like Imelda Falls in Laguna. Good for you, that you could come and visit that place. Actually, I never yet experience in that place, I hope I will go there too. :)
