Eco Park, is located on the wall of La Mesa Dam, Quezon City,
Metro Manila.
It is in Fairview, Quezon City. Which is a bit of a drive if you are going to take a taxi, But I would say it is worth the time and money.
We used the Van, It was looking a pretty sad day, Rain clouds in the sky so we threw in umbrellas and off we went to have even a wet day out.
Once we arrived it was nice and sunny, and and getting hot.
We drove in and parked in the parking area, there is enough space and not far from the real entrance of the park.
Next to the car park was the paint ball, (I cant wait for the daughter to get a little older.. BANG BANG.)
We fed the ducks, at the car park just where you an get a boat to row for a few hours. They charge by the 30 Minutes but it looks like it would be really relaxing. (Dont forget food, there are some food stands)
We headed down the long path - road into the park proper and as you walk down you can feel all the stresses of the
Metro Manila disappearing, Between the large trees and the clean air you cannot think anymore of the city.
There is a pool which you can pay entry, they have strict rules so there is no one swimming in their street clothes..
The road-path ends in a Picnic area with cooking facilities and playground equipment for the children.
As you wander about the park, the whole experience will infuse your blood stream, Walking and taking photo after photo. The wife and daughter stood and sat everywhere to have another photo taken.
We went and looked at the butterfly enclosure, which may be a little small but 30 Peso and letting the daughter really experience seeing and feeling all the life cycle of the butterfly was a good education.
We also had a stick Insect placed on our hands and arms, The wife was standing well away, but I enjoyed it and the daughter just screamed, Im not sure it if was delight or fear.. After that we aimed for some thing more tame.
We headed down to the fishing pond, we had been in the park for about 3 Hours now and spent another Hour with a fishing pole each, Catching nothing, but we all did relax.. sitting there.
The Park was about to close in a Hour i think and we were now starving.. (Yes we did not take food, and just had chips and soft drinks.).
So we headed back to Quezon city and pigged out at Jollibee...
Clean air and a great relaxing walk will always bring on a full appetite....
It is a day we will do again for sure..
